Now, reward programs can be signed up for online. Newsletters are usually found towards the bottom of a website or in an annoying pop-up. It’s all for marketing and sales. But they all have one thing in common. They are all forms. So let’s look at the top 3 free/low-cost form plugins you can find on WordPress. And maybe you can take some inspiration and build yourself a pretty useful tool.

  1. WP Forms

Although mistaken for being the “official” form building plugin for WordPress, WP Forms is one of the most popular form builders for WordPress.

Pros:

The free version is powerful and will suit most user’s needs, with paid extensions available for those who want to do more. It is incredibly powerful and versatile that allows you to create basic forms all the way to interactive surveys and obtain real-time data.

Cons:

By making this service user friendly though, it had to make some sacrifices. A lot of the more complex building features you might find in a later plugin might not be built into this one. Beyond that, it comes down to the free version offering a limited amount of power. Luckily the price annually is relatively cheap to open the versatility of this plugin up.

  1. Ninja Forms

Ninja Forms is a powerful form plugin with a free version available for those who just want to utilize the basic features. The price starts to pick up though when you are in need of it’s pro features.

Pros:

The biggest draw is that the free version is already well suited to manage most form building capabilities. It houses integration, field control, and even a translation service. Not only that but it can be installed on as many sites as you want.

Cons:

Although seeming very simple and basic, once you start using hooks and filters, the builder can become very bulky and complex. Beyond that, the only downside is ultimately it’s paywalled features. But that is true with just about any plugin these days.

  1. Formidable Forms

Have you been looking at Gravity Forms and wished it had a free version? Well if that’s the case than Formidable Forms might be the plugin for you.

Pros:

With the ability to tackle forms without the need for expensive third-party plugins, it handles data like the best. With built-in views, cascading lookup fields, and just overall control, it is a powerful plugin. And what you get for free is on par with Ninja Forms.

Cons:

It’s free content is great but it’s real power sits behind a paywall. And this paywall is definitely one of the more expensive ones on this list. However, the price still beats some of the more expensive premium only plugins.

These are great alternatives if you don’t want to pay an exhorbitant amount for Hubspot or Mailchimp right off the bat. Those are great CRM platforms; however, if you don’t get that much traffic or many contacts, it might be best to save the money and choose one of these plugins till you reach a need for the CRM platforms.
